Introduction

The Key Laboratory of Theoretical Chemistry of Environment is focus on proposing new research ideas to understand chemistry in the environment and material science by integrating theoretical chemistry, synthetic chemistry, environmental science, analytical chemistry, materials science and other disciplines, while drawing on the research methods of physics and biological sciences. The laboratory is committed to developing new theoretical methods to understand the structure and dynamics of complex systems, and using them to understand the formation, transformation and degradation processes of pollutants in the environment. At the same time, the theory and calculation methods are applied to the design of environmental functional materials, as well as research on the distribution and evolution of pollutants and degradation treatment.

The laboratory has developed the interdisciplinary branch of environment and chemistry as one of the important research platforms for environmental theoretical chemistry in China, which is at the advanced level at home and abroad.
